Season 3 Curios: Combat & Utility Breakdown

Combat Curios (5 Total)

1. Ethereal Energy Converter

   • Effect: When a party member drops below 60% health, it deals moderate damage and taunts nearby enemies for 6 seconds. After the taunt, it heals allies for 50% of their health. Cooldown is 2 minutes, but killing enemies reduces it by 8 seconds.

   • Best For: Survivability and defense, not raw damage. Good for players who struggle to survive, as it provides both crowd control and healing.

1. Hatterang (Top Pick)

   • Effect: Bran throws a random hat on enemies, applying two debuffs to up to five targets (more at higher ranks). Three possible debuffs:

     • 35% increased damage taken by the mob.

     • 35% reduced damage dealt by the mob.

     • 35% reduced attack/cast speed for the mob.

   • Notes: Works on bosses (unlike many curios), making it extremely valuable. The debuff applied is random, and higher ranks increase both the number of targets and debuff potency. If it works on Princess Kyza, it’s a game-changer.

1. Manatinted Glasses

   • Effect: Bran gains 4% increased damage and 5% reduced damage taken every 5 seconds (up to 10 stacks). Can be dispelled for a 55% max health heal and stun to nearby enemies. If not dispelled, auto-dispels at 30% health (no stun).

   • Best For: Healers, as they can control the dispel for the stun and heal. Not ideal for pure DPS delves.

1. Nether Overlay Matrix

   • Effect: Bran summons an ethereal copy of himself (30% weaker). Currently, the strength doesn’t scale with rank (possibly bugged).

   • Notes: This is the Princess Kyza drop, similar to the Pacific Rig from Underpin in Season 2. Potentially very strong, but needs tuning/fixes.

1. Quizzical Device

   • Effect: Chance to grant players 20% bonus to health, damage, or healing for 20 seconds, based on Bran’s role (tank, DPS, healer). Also boosts Bran based on your role.

   • Best For: Flexible, but not the strongest. Good for boosting DPS if Bran is set as a damage dealer.

Summary:

• Best Overall: Hatterang (for its boss applicability and powerful debuffs).

• Best for Survivability: Ethereal Energy Converter.

• Best for Healers: Manatinted Glasses.

• Potential Sleeper: Nether Overlay Matrix (if fixed/balanced).

Utility Curios (5 Total)

1. Audio Amplification Crystal (Potential Best)

   • Effect: Bran’s voice can grant party buffs based on what he says. At rank 1, gives 15% haste, stacking up to 2 times (30% total). Higher ranks bugged in testing, but could be even stronger.

   • Best For: General party buffing, especially if higher ranks work as intended.

1. Battered Aegis (Best in General)

   • Effect: While equipped, all party members get 12% increased damage and healing. Every 10 seconds in combat, you and Bran heal for 20% of damage taken. If a player dies, they get 4% damage reduction and 5% healing when resurrected, but reduced damage/healing output.

   • Best For: Flat damage/healing boost and sustain. Scales with rank (starts lower).

1. Sands of Kesh

   • Effect: When Bran uses gathering tools, party gets 12% crit (up to 10 stacks) and slows nearby enemies. Crits spawn sand devils that pull mobs. Only works during gathering, so limited use in delves.

   • Best For: Gathering runs, not general combat.

1. Tailwind Conduit (Best for Farming)

   • Effect: On exiting combat, gain 100% movement speed for 10 seconds (decays). Using a defensive cooldown in combat gives a shield for 8 seconds equal to 50% of missing health.

   • Best For: Speed farming, running through delves quickly, or looting.

1. Temporal Dissolator Crystal (Best for Bosses)

   • Effect: Damaging an elite at 80%+ or 20%- health triggers a 40% attack/cast speed reduction for 30 seconds. Killing the elite while debuffed gives a stacking 6% haste buff to the party.

   • Best For: Boss fights or tough elites, especially those with dangerous casts.

Summary:

• Best Overall: Battered Aegis (flat damage/healing, sustain).

• Best Potential: Audio Amplification Crystal (if higher ranks are fixed).

• Best for Speed Runs: Tailwind Conduit.

• Best for Bosses: Temporal Dissolator Crystal.

Personal Top Combos

• Combat: Hatterang (for debuffs and boss utility)

• Utility: Battered Aegis (for flat damage/healing and sustain), or Audio Amplification Crystal if it gets fixed for higher ranks.

In short:

• Hatterang and Battered Aegis are the go-to choices for most players.

• Audio Amplification Crystal could become the best utility curio if its higher ranks are fixed.

• Tailwind Conduit is best for farming, and Temporal Dissolator Crystal shines in boss fights.
