What is Housing and Decor Farming in WoW?

With the introduction of housing in World of Warcraft, players now have the opportunity to create and decorate their own homes in-game. The housing system allows you to place a house on your own plot and fill it with furniture, decorations, and other personal items. This is a long-awaited feature that builds upon previous systems like Garrisons, but now offers much more freedom and customization. Decor farming is all about collecting various decorative items (decors) for your house. These items can be obtained in multiple ways: by completing quests, participating in events, defeating rare mobs, or taking part in special in-game activities. Many of these decorations are highly sought after, and some are even exclusive to certain weeks or events, making collecting them both a fun challenge and a long-term goal.

How Does Decor Farming Work?

The World of Warcraft housing system has hundreds of decorative items to collect. You can obtain these through:

• Weekly and daily quests

• Events and special activities

• Farming rare mobs

• Reputation and paragon chest rewards

• Purchasing from NPCs

• Participating in mini-games and seasonal events

The housing and decor economy is now a central part of the game, allowing you to show off your collection to friends and other players, and even collaborate with your guild to create unique spaces.

WEEKLIES – Weekly Quests

Every week, there is a specific city quest that rewards a unique decor item. These rotate each week, so keep an eye on which decor is currently available.

DAILIES – Daily Quests

Mechagon Quests

• Certain daily quests in Mechagon reward Self-Assembly Kits, which always provide a decor (duplicates are possible).

• Possible rewards:

  • Retired Industrial Gnomegrabber

  • Self-Sealing Stembarrel

  • Small Mechanical Crate

  • Small H.O.M.E. Cog

Recyclerizer DX-82 (Repeatable)

• Location: Junkwatt Depot, Mechagon (/way 55.86, 62.55)

• Materials: 30 Hardened Spring, 5 Machined Gear Assembly, 10 Tempered Plating → Bindle of Recyclable Parts

• Reward: Strange Recycling Requisition (can contain Gnomeregan Recyli-Kiln, drop rate unknown)

FARMING – Rare Mobs and Paragon Chests

Darkshore Rares

• There are 29 different rares that can drop decor items. The area is controlled by either Alliance or Horde – log into the correct faction to farm.

• Possible drops:

  • Filigree Moon Sconce

  • Elven Temple Brazier

  • Forsaken Spiked Brazier

  • Banshee Queen's Banner

Highmountain Paragon Chest

• Obtain the Bloodtotem Banner from the paragon chest (not a 100% drop). Easier to farm reputation during Legion Remix.

Garrison

• The Quartermaster sells missives for 200 garrison supplies. Three of these grant a decor:

  • Draenei Farmer’s Trellis (Assault of the Heart of Shattrath)

  • Elodor Barrel (Assault on Shattrah Harbor)

  • Shadownmon Open-Air Shed (Assault on Socrethar’s Rise)

• Can be farmed infinitely.

EVENTS & EXTRA SOURCES

S.C.R.A.P.P.I.N.G (Undermine)

• Participate in the scrapping event for a chance at the Trashfire Barrel in the chest.

Shipping and Handling

• Complete 10 jobs in a row (Job Streak) for a chance at the Very Reliable Undermine Lamppost (low drop rate).

• Plan your weeks: Track which decor is up for grabs in weekly quests.

• Stay active during events: Many unique decors are only available at certain times.

• Switch factions if needed: For Darkshore rares, log into the right faction to maximize your chances.
