How to Get the Void-Corrupted Lynx Mount in WoW Patch 12.0.5 – Rope Lynx Harness Guide
For months after launch, people were searching everywhere for where the Rope Lynx Harness pattern drops. A couple of videos popped up 11 days ago and 3 days ago, but nobody could figure out the exact source. They only knew it was a Leatherworking thing tied to the Void-Corrupted Lynx mount.
This weekend I jumped in, did a bunch of runs, and finally cracked it. Boom — I got both the pattern and the key ingredient on the same run. Here’s exactly how I did it.
The Mount and What You Need
The Pattern: Rope Lynx Harness teaches you how to craft the Rope Lynx Harness, which summons the Void-Corrupted Lynx ground mount. The mount’s look and speed change depending on your Riding skill and location.
To craft it, you need:
Broken Lynx Leash (1)
Mote of Primal Energy (40)
Infused Scaleworm Hide
Sin’dorei Armor Banding (2)
Midnight Leatherworking (90)
Both the pattern and the leash are Binds when picked up (soulbound), so they have to drop on the character you want to craft on.
Where It Drops – Daggerspine Point Ritual Site
I found both items inside the Daggerspine Point Ritual Site.
This is a scalable scenario where you choose your difficulty by selecting challenges before you start. I had been running Tier 1 through Tier 5 for ages — easily 50–60 runs total — and never saw either item.
Then, with the new Ritual Site faction/renown system in place, I decided to do a proper full-clear run. I activated 6 challenges (basically a hard Tier 5) and pushed through everything.
At the end, when I opened the main chest, both dropped together:
Pattern: Rope Lynx Harness
Broken Lynx Leash
First proper high-challenge run and I got both at once. Felt amazing after all those dry runs.
Is It Just Luck or Does Renown Matter?
I’m not 100% sure yet. It could be a super low drop chance that I finally hit, or it might be that reaching max Renown with the Ritual Site faction greatly increases your chances from the final chest on Tier 5 runs.
We’ll see what happens once more people hit max renown and start spamming Tier 5. I’ll update if I find out more, but right now this is what worked for me: max (or high) renown + completing a full high-challenge run (6 challenges) and looting the end chest.
Quick Step-by-Step (What I Did)
Go to the Daggerspine Point Ritual Site.
Select as many challenges as you can handle (more = better loot potential).
Complete the entire scenario.
Open the final main chest.
Pray for the Pattern: Rope Lynx Harness and/or Broken Lynx Leash.
Once you have both, head to a Leatherworker with 90 Midnight Leatherworking skill and craft the Rope Lynx Harness.
That’s it. The mount is yours.
I’ve also been farming these Ritual Sites for other rewards and Great Vault progress, so even the dry runs weren’t completely wasted.
