If you've been playing since Season 1 or Season 2, you'll notice that several systems have been overhauled, and I’m here to walk you through everything you need to know about relic coffer keys, crests, and gear rewards. Let’s dive in!

Activities and Content Overview

First, let’s recap the activities fromSeason 1 and Season 2:

• Season 1 Activities:

  • Theater Troop

  • Awakening Machine

  • Spreading the Light

  • Special Assignment

  • World Soul Aiding (rotating between delve, artifact collection, etc.)

  • Pinnacle Cache

• Season 2 Additions:

  • Earth Surge

  • Special Assignment (Nanny Chest)

These activities rewarded you withrelic coffer keys,crests, and gear. However,Season 3has introduced significant changes to these systems.

Relic Coffer Keys: What’s New in Season 3?

Season 1 and 2 Keys

InSeason 1 and 2, relic coffer keys were straightforward:

• The first four chests from activities like Theater Troop or Awakening Machine gave full relic coffer keys.

• After those four keys, you could only get key fragments by completing world quests or World Soul Aiding activities.

What Changed in Season 3?

InSeason 3, relic coffer key rewards are now tied to specific activities. Here’s the breakdown:

• Season 1 & 2 Activities:

  • No longer give full relic coffer keys.

  • The first four chests from these activities will now reward 50 relic key shards each, totaling 200 shards (equivalent to 2 full keys).

  • This means you’ll need to complete double the activities to achieve the same rewards as before.

• Season 3 Activities:

  • Ecological Succession provides a chest called the Wriggling Box, which contains 1 full relic coffer key.

  • Special Assignment in Karesh gives you the Fabled Veteran Cache, which also contains 1 full relic coffer key.

Total Keys Per Week:

• 2 keys from Season 1 & 2 content (via shards).

• 2 keys from Season 3 content (full keys).

• Grand total: 4 keys per week, but with more effort required.

Crests: Season 3 Changes

Season 1 and 2 Crests

Previously, all Season 1 and 2 content rewardedCarved Crests, which were essential for upgrading gear.

What Changed in Season 3?

• Season 1 & 2 Activities:

  • Now reward Weathered Crests instead of Carved Crests.

  • Weathered Crests are less valuable and cannot be used for the same upgrades.

• Season 3 Activities:

  • Only Season 3 content (Ecological Succession and Karesh Special Assignment) rewards Carved Crests.

  • Additionally, the three daily quests tied to Ecological Succession also reward Carved Crests.

Gear Rewards: Season 3 Updates

Season 1 and 2 Gear

• All Season 1 and 2 content now only rewards Adventure Gear, which is lower-tier gear compared to what’s available in Season 3.

Season 3 Gear

• The two main Season 3 activities (Ecological Succession and Karesh Special Assignment) reward Veteran Gear, which is a significant upgrade over Adventure Gear.

• To obtain Veteran Gear, you must focus on Season 3 content exclusively.

• To stay competitive, you must focus on Season 3 activities to get the best crests and gear.

Final Thoughts

The changes in Season 3 demand more effort to achieve the same results as in previous seasons. While you’ll still end up with 4 relic coffer keys per week, the distribution has shifted, and Season 3 content is now essential for obtaining the best rewards.Blizzard has definitely made it more grind-heavy, but with proper planning, you can still maximize your weekly gains. Make sure to prioritize:

1. Ecological Succession for relic coffer keys, carved crests, and Veteran Gear.

2. Special Assignment in Karesh for another key and Veteran Gear.

3. Daily Quests in the new zone for additional carved crests.
