What Are Corrosive Souls?
Corrosive Souls are the currency used at the Altar of Corrosion (inside the Vaults of Atal’Utek on the Coiled Isle) to unlock powers in the Corrosive Codex.
Each power costs 8 Corrosive Souls.
You start with 1 active power slot.
After unlocking 8 different powers, a second active slot opens.
Unlocks are account-wide / Warband-wide.
Active loadout choices are saved per character.
Powers only work in Midnight outdoor content and Delves (they do not work in dungeons, raids, arenas, or battlegrounds).
Excess souls can be turned in to Er’inye for Corrosive Coins (which feed the separate Altar talent tree) or converted into Undercoins at the Delve vendor.

Recommended Farming Priority
Clear all four guaranteed weekly sources (Vault quest + Curse Surges quest + Ancient Foe + Nymrissa) on every level 90 character.
Defeat Ral’kala once per week per character (after Preyhunter’s Journey Rank 3).
Complete your weekly Prey hunts and open the bags for the chance at extra souls.
After Zul’jarra’s Forces Renown 4, always do the first Curse Surge of the day.
Purchase the one-time Corrosive Reticule as soon as you hit Delver’s Journey Rank 2.
Everything else (Bountiful Delves, rares, open-world farming) is pure bonus income.
Doing the weeklies on multiple characters is by far the fastest way to stockpile souls for the account-wide Codex unlocks.

Extra Tips from Moudi’s Testing
Souls are intentionally scarce compared with early PTR builds — treat every guaranteed source as high value.
Reach Zul’jarra’s Forces Renown 4 early if you care about the daily Curse Surge chance.
Excess souls can be turned into Corrosive Coins or Undercoins.
