Detailed Guide: Complete Guide on Corrosive Coins and Power – Vault of Atal’Utek 12.1

Based on Moudi’s video. This covers every major section, unlock, cost, reward, activity, and tips.

Vaults Zone Overview

Inside the big mountain on Coiled Isle sits the Vaults of Atal’Utek (also called Vaults of Atal’ai Utek / Atal’Dazar tech in some references).

  • Three entrance ways: main entrance + side entrances.

  • Flying is disabled inside; you get dismounted.

  • Hallways grant increased mount speed.

  • Once inside: a huge cave system.

    • North side → harder mobs, more venom water, raid entrance.

    • South side → Amani foothold + dungeon entrance.

    • Side paths with crypt entrances.

    • Middle = venom water floor with snake mobs.

    • Sides = undead creatures.

  • Mix of elite and non-elite mobs with strong abilities.

  • Designed as a group playground (not solo-friendly).

The zone has introduction, daily, and weekly quests that explicitly encourage grouping.

The Four Activities

Everything feeds into Corrosive Coins (harder content = more coins).

  1. Temple Patrol – Small-area objectives (kill mobs, save allies, etc.). Quick and easy.

  2. Temple Strike – Larger-area objectives. Can be easier (turn into spirit animals, collect orbs) or harder (fight through many elites).

  3. Temple Incursion – Large multi-player event with a strict 10-minute timer. Requires many players (not hard difficulty-wise, but the timer forces groups). Activities include defending a payload, gathering materials, or destroying mobs in specific areas.

  4. Ancient Foe – Big boss that spawns every time a Temple Incursion is completed.

These form a continuous loop meant to be done with other players.

The Altar of Corrosion

Central progression system for the Vaults (and some outside areas). Interact with the Altar to open a unique talent tree shaped like a figure (head + arms + chest).

Right arm (combat / defensive support)

  • Spawns helpful spirits that assist in fights (more spirits unlock later).

  • Offerings to shrines create temporary safe zones (e.g., invisibility / stop-aggro).

  • Major venom resistance: take 75% less damage from venom pools (extremely strong).

Middle section

  • Procs Volatile Venom that increases primary stats / strength.

Left arm (zone unlocks & exploration)

  • Find recipes for Orphy’s Cauldron from treasures across the isle.

  • Unlocks a new daily/weekly questline involving Orphy in the city.

  • Combine three types of ingredients in the cauldron for varying rewards.

  • Guard against Venom-Crazed foes (25% less damage).

  • Chance to find Corrosive Coins while gathering around Atal’Utek.

  • Recover Decrepit Keys from Venom and Haste enemies → open Decrepit Caches (extra treasures with potions, coins, Voidlight Marl, etc.).

Talents also multiply the Corrosive Coins you earn from all sources (base → +25% → +50% and higher as you progress).

How to Unlock More Talent Points

Talk to the NPC next to the Altar and turn in Corrosive Coins for points (1 point per turn-in).

Exact costs for the 14 coin-based points (total 95,500 Corrosive Coins): 1,000 → 1,500 → 2,000 → 2,500 → 3,000 → 4,000 → 5,000 → 6,000 → 7,000 → 8,000 → 10,000 → 12,500 → 15,500 → 20,000.

Unlock with Renown

  • Renown 8 (Zul’jarra’s Forces): +1 talent point (Spirit of Corrosion).

  • Renown 14: +1 talent point.

Unlock the Last 4

Four additional points come from Corrosive Relics (found in the zone). These activate automatically when acquired — no coins required. (Sources were somewhat unclear on PTR; feedback was given to Blizzard.)

Total possible points: Around 18–20+ (14 from coins + 2 from renown + 4 from relics). You can respec freely at the Altar.

Corrosive Coin Vendor

NPC right next to the talent turn-in vendor (Skull of Er’inye / similar). Sells:

  • Pets (one resembles the fishing-rod snake transform).

  • Mount (large “big boy” mount — highly recommended by the creator).

  • Transmog sets (cloth, mail, plate, etc.).

  • Liquid Luster and various housing décor.

Prices use the same Corrosive Coins.

Rewards from Activities

  • Temple Patrol: Small amount of Corrosive Coins (very low before talent multipliers).

  • Temple Strike: Corroded Pouch → Corrosive Coins + 5 Veteran Crests + 30 Voidlight Motes.

  • Temple Incursion: Corroded Satchel → more Coins + 10 Veteran Crests (possible gear drops).

  • Ancient Foe: Boss loot includes Venom-Cursed Fragment (combine 2 for Champion gear), Corrosive Soul, Coffy Key Shards, etc. Satchel can contain Coins, Veteran gear, and more.

One Champion Gear Each Week

Weekly quest requires completing all four activities. Rewards:

  • 2 Corrosive Souls

  • 1,200 Bounty (used for a Hero piece via Delve)

  • Coffy Key Shard

  • War Mode rewards

  • Another Venom-Cursed Fragment

Combined with the Ancient Foe drop → guaranteed 1 Champion gear piece (from 2 fragments) + 1 Hero piece pathway.

Spirit of Tok’Jara Mount

Unlocks at Renown 10 with Zul’jarra’s Forces.

  • Speak to Du’gal (next to the talent area) to start the questline.

  • Short story quests that are repeatable (daily on PTR; may become weekly on live).

  • Complete the full chain (5–6 quests) → Spirit of Tok’Jara mount (account-wide). Flavor: “Now freed from the curse, the great eagle Tok’jara continues to serve the Amani even through death.”

Best Way to Farm Corrosive Coins

Early game (before strong talent multipliers): Form or join 5-man groups and farm mobs continuously. This is dramatically faster (roughly 10×) than only doing the structured activities.

Still complete the quests and the four activities for the extra rewards, gear, and weekly Champion piece.

Once you invest points into the Altar (especially the coin-multiplier nodes), every source (mobs, activities, gathering, etc.) becomes significantly more efficient. Do not try to solo the whole zone — groups are the intended and best way.
